Booking a Banquet Hall in West Bloomfield: A Simple Event Checklist

Planning a wedding, engagement, graduation or company dinner? Use this checklist to compare banquet halls in West Bloomfield, and see how Royal Palace handles each item.

Booking a hall is one of those tasks that seems simple until you're doing it. The venue, the food, the chairs, the timeline: it all has to line up. We host events every week in our banquet hall on Haggerty Rd, so here's the checklist we walk families through, with honest notes on how Royal Palace handles each point.

1. Lock the date and the headcount first

Everything else depends on these two numbers. Decide on a date (and a backup), and a realistic guest count. Halls price and set up by the table, so "somewhere between 80 and 200" isn't a number yet. When you contact us, these are the first two things we'll ask.

2. Decide whether food comes from the venue

Some halls are room-only and you bring a caterer; others require you to use their kitchen. Royal Palace is a restaurant and a hall, so the food is ours: charcoal-grilled kabobs, shawarma, mezze trays and rice dishes, all halal. One contact, one invoice, no coordinating two vendors on the day.

3. Ask what's included in the room

  • Tables, chairs and linens (and in what colors)
  • Setup and teardown
  • Sound system, lighting, a space for a DJ or band
  • Parking for your guest count
  • Staff during the event

Our hall is highly customizable. We've done black-and-gold, white-and-silver, floral centerpieces and cocktail-table layouts for engagement parties, and we'll match what you have in mind. See photos of past setups.

4. Build a simple timeline

A typical evening: guests arrive and mezze is on the tables; dinner is served family-style or buffet; then dessert, speeches and dancing. Tell the hall your timing and they'll stage the food so the grill items land hot. We cook in-house, so the kabobs come off the fire minutes before service.

5. Confirm the details in writing

Date, headcount, menu, room setup, total cost and deposit, and who your point of contact is on the day. Keep it on one page. We'll put it together with you.

Events we host

Weddings and engagements, milestone birthdays, graduation parties, holiday gatherings, family reunions, corporate dinners and luncheons. If it's a table full of people and good food, it's what the hall was built for. Start with the date and the headcount, and call (248) 438-6672 or send us a note.

Questions people ask

How far in advance should I book a banquet hall?

Popular weekend dates go first, so reach out as soon as you have a date in mind. For smaller weekday events we can often work on shorter notice. Call and ask.

Does Royal Palace provide the food for events?

Yes. Royal Palace is both a restaurant and a banquet hall, so the catering is cooked in our own kitchen: kabobs, shawarma, mezze trays, rice and more, all halal.

What kinds of events can you host?

Weddings, engagements, birthdays, graduations, holiday parties, family reunions, corporate dinners and meetings. The room is customizable to your layout and color scheme.
